Soil Calculations: Both sold by the yard only, calculate soil quantities like mulch.  Calculate depth in inches. (Ex. 3”=.25, 6”=.5, 9”=.75, 12”=1)  Get square feet and approximate depth needed.

Formula:

Total square feet (depth) / 27 = total yards

Example:

100’x20’ = 2,000 Sq. Ft.

2,000Sq. Ft.(.5 or 6”)/27 = total yards

1,000/27 = total yards
