Punxsutawney Phil May Come Out in a Bikini This Year!

01/30/2012

That Groundhog is going to wonder why he didn't come out sooner....who cares about the shadow when the weather is this nice!? So far this winter has been record breaking warm. It's a nice change over the snowfall of last year.

I think maybe Punxsutawney Phil will come out in his bikini and Hawaiian Lei this year. After all, Hawaii is the theme of this year's Philadelphia Flower Show! (Insert Shameless Plug Here.....WE ARE GOING TO BE AT THE PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW THIS YEAR!!!!!) Stop in and visit us, talk to us, check out our products, buy our landscaping products right at the flower show or book a free consultation with one of our Landscape Designers on the spot! Exciting Stuff!

Due to this unseasonably warm weather you may be experiencing some oddities in your garden. We have seen some very confused plants pop up early. You can check out the photos on our Facebook Keystone Gardening Inc or like us right on our home page. We also posted a really good article on the subject from the Inquirer, you may want to read. If you notice things blooming that shouldn't be or if you are concerned about how much color you can expect this spring, it may be a good idea to schedule a free appointment with one of our Landscape Designers. They can come out and tell you what will most likely, live, die, come back, not come back, bloom again or not bloom again. They can also advise you on what you can do to make sure you have that lovely color in your garden when you expect it. If your bulbs flowered too early, maybe you could have us come out and plant some annuals to add instant color this spring?

We have been hearing people talk about drainage issues. We want you to know that we are here to fix your outdoor problems! We can help you with drainage, grading, walls, paths, lighting, adding curb appeal, planning for spring, turf care, year round care, landscape design and much more! Call us and see what we can do for you!

Are you a do it yourselfer? If you are we are getting ready for Mulch Madness! We are scheduling deliveries for mulch, soil and stone for early spring. We will deliver it to you, drop it where you want it and do it reliably.

Did you set up a Turf Care plan yet? Don't wait 'til the spring rush! The time to make the plan is now if you would like green grass for spring and summer. We are offering a pre paid incentive on Turf Care....ask your Landscape Designer about our winter specials and new payment plans!

It is still February……in the event of snow, be sure to shake or brush off the white stuff from the branches of your evergreens and shrubs.

Odds and ends
House plants may notice the longer days, and begin growing. You can begin feeding them again, but use a dilute 50% fertilizer mix until the growth is robust.

Kindness: Continue feeding our feathered friends, you'll want them to stick around to help you in insect control as the weather warms again.
